Goulash soup with bread dumplings

For the goulash soup with bread dumplings cut half a red and half a green pepper, onions and garlic into small cubes. Cut the chilli pod into rings and remove the white seeds. Dice the streaky bacon. Cut beef goulash and pork goulash into smaller cubes. Heat oil in a casserole dish. Brown the beef goulash until it starts to brown. Add the pork goulash and bacon and fry until hot. Reduce the temperature slightly and sauté the vegetables. Mix in tomato pulp, season with thyme, pepper, salt and paprika powder. Add the red wine, cover with a lid and gently stew the soup for 50 minutes, but do not let it boil. Extend the soup with beef meat broth and bring to the boil briefly. Mix potato starch and a little cold water. Lightly thicken the soup with it. For the bread dumplings, boil up plenty of water in a pot. Cook bread dumplings at medium heat for 5 minutes. Arrange goulash soup with bread dumplings and sprinkle with fresh thyme.
