0,5 Onions

1 tbsp Sunflower Oil
100 g Rice
1 tbsp Cream
0,5 Tin of tomatoes
Pepper & Salt
Chili Powder
1 tbsp Parsley

Djuvec rice is a traditional side dish that is often served with cevapcici or meat in the Balkans. Cut the paprika, onion and garlic into very fine cubes. Heat oil in a pot. Steam rice, onions, garlic and paprika while stirring until transparent. To prevent the Djuvec rice from becoming too soft, add a little cream which wraps around the grains like a film. Only then add tomatoes with juice and chop. Bring the Djuvec rice to the boil briefly. Let it swell for 25 minutes on the lowest setting without lid, stirring occasionally. Season Djuvec rice with pepper, salt and chilli powder. Finely chop parsley. Sprinkle over the Djuvec rice just before serving.
