Batida de Abacaxi is the Brazilian or Portuguese name for cocktail with pineapple. Although this long drink tastes fruity and light, its effect is somewhat stronger due to the higher proportion of cachaca and sugar syrup. Fill a short cup of glass up to half with ice cubes. Wash a lime thoroughly with hot water and rub dry. Cut off the slightly bitter tasting end pieces of the lime and cut the lime into 8 pieces. Squeeze the lime pieces over the ice cubes and then pour into the glass. Pour Cachaca over it and fill up with well cooled pineapple juice. Sweeten Batida de Abacaxi with sugar syrup, stir well and serve with straw.
