Baked onion

Baked onion

Baked onion tastes good as a starter or side dish with steak. Peel the onions and cut the lower end straight. Put the onions in a saucepan. Cover with water. Put a lid on it. Boil the water. Cook at medium temperature for 30 minutes until soft. For baked onions, preheat the oven to 200° C. Drain the onions. Cut a lid off. Pull out the inner layers with a fork and dice. Leave 1 to 2 layers as cover. Finely dice the garlic. Chop 1 sprig of rosemary finely. Heat the oil in a pan. Steam onion cubes and garlic until translucent. Add rosemary. Deglaze with cream. Bring to the boil. Stir 50 g grated Parmesan cheese into the mixture. Season with salt and pepper. Fill the onions. Cut 3 rosemary twigs in half. Sharpen the lower ends with a knife. Wrap onion with bacon strips. Stick with rosemary. Place the onions in a casserole dish. Sprinkle with 30 g Parmesan cheese. Bake onions on the middle rack and bake for 20 minutes. Serve the baked onion as hot as possible.
