Kohlrabi casserole

Kohlrabi casserole

Bake the kohlrabi casserole in a slightly higher casserole dish. Peel the kohlrabi, cut in half and cut into thin slices. Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin slices. Cut the tomatoes into slices as well. Peel and halve the onions and cut into slices. In a coated pan let out 10 g butter and fry onions until translucent. Alternate potato slices, onions, kohlrabi, slices of smoked sausage and tomato slices in a lightly greased casserole dish. In between season with salt and pepper. Finish the kohlrabi casserole with potato slices. Pour milk and cream into a saucepan and heat. Melt the finely grated Edam cheese in it. Remove from heat and stir in an egg. Season with pepper, salt and nutmeg. Cut the chives into fine rolls, stir into the egg cream and pour over the kohlrabi casserole. Bake in the preheated oven at 180° for approx. 60 minutes. Melt the remaining butter and drizzle over the kohlrabi casserole about 15 minutes before the end. Serve Kohlrabi casserole immediately.
