Sausages in a dressing gown is the name for sausages that are wrapped in dough and baked. They are ideal for children's birthday parties, but also taste very good as a small snack for adults. First preheat the oven to 200° and line a baking tray with baking paper. Place the puff pastry next to each other on a slightly floured work surface, defrost for approx. 10 minutes and dust with a little flour. Roll out the long side of the puff pastry to double its size, cut it in half across and cover each side with a Wiener sausage. Separate one egg into two bowls. Brush the edges of the puff pastry with egg white. Roll the sausages into the puff pastry, as shown in the picture above, and press the edges down slightly. Place the sausages in the dressing gown on the baking tray with the seam facing downwards. Brush the puff pastry with egg yolk. Place the baking tray on the middle shelf in the preheated oven and bake for approx. 25 minutes until the puff pastry begins to brown slightly. Serve the iceberg lettuce on plates, place the sausages in their dressing gowns on top, decorate with tomatoes and serve with ketchup.
