Wine Brand

Wine Brand

Wine brandy is a brandy wine obtained by the distillation of wine. It must contain at least 36% alcohol by volume. Wine brandy matures like cognac or armagnac in oak wood barrels. However, only the wine brandies that come from the region may bear the name Cognac or Armagnac. The protected term "Deutscher Wein Brand" is subject to strict quality requirements. German wine brandy has an alcohol content of at least 38% vol. The maturation period is at least 12 months.
