Wild garlic

wild garlic

Bear's garlic is also called forest garlic or wild garlic because it emits a strong garlic-like smell. The name bear's garlic is said to derive from the fact that it is the first food bears eat after hibernation. Bear's garlic grows in deciduous forests, on moist, humus-rich soil. One finds him there mainly in shady places. Wild garlic is very sensitive to pressure and only keeps fresh for a very short time.
