Iceberg Salad

Iceberg lettuce is a kind of head lettuce that has a cabbage-like head. Its leaves are firm and remain very crisp even after preparation. An iceberg lettuce weighs about twice as much as a green head lettuce. Iceberg lettuce has a fresh hearty taste. It is used raw for mixed salads or as a base for sandwiches and hamburgers.
