Chilli pod

Chilli pod

As a rule, the smaller the chili pod, the sharper it is. It is best to try a small piece before use. Chili pod can be cooked as a whole. If the chilli pod is used raw, the very hot white seeds should be removed. When handling chili pods, do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth with your fingers, as it burns heavily. Burning in the mouth cannot be alleviated with water, as the capsaicin responsible for the sharpness is only soluble in fat or alcohol. It's better to chew a piece of white bread. Even a sauce that is too hot can be brought to the boil with white bread and softened.
