Bread rolls are called differently in many regions. In Hamburg, for example, they say "Rundstück", in Berlin "Schrippe", in Bavaria "Semmel" or in Franconia "Weggla". Bread rolls are basically small loaves of bread baked from wheat flour and yeast. You can also bake your own buns. Then they taste very good and you know what's in them, but their consistency is a bit firmer than the rolls bought from the baker. Bread rolls from the bakery contain more moulds and they are made from ready-made baking mixtures with other additives.
