Gloegg is a Swedish red wine punch. For best results let stand over night so the spices can develop their full flavor and the raisins and almonds become soft. Pour the red wine in a pot add the schnapps and season with cinnamon, ginger (you can also use candied ginger) and clove. Now add sugar, raisins and slivered almonds. Heat the Gloegg, stir to dissolve sugar. Do not boil, just heating the Gloegg will keep the flavors. Cover, set a side and let stand over night. Heat and serve hot in a glass mug.
