Serves 1 - 116 cal per serving
Prep-time: 10 min. - Total-time: 10 min.
To make Latte Macchiato you'll need an espresso machine with a steam wand. Heat up the espresso machine. Drain the water from the steam wand until steam is coming out. Shut of the steam wand again. Pour milk in a small jug. Make sure the jug is big enough to hold all the steamed milk. If you fill in the milk the jug should not be more than half filled.
Now dip the steam wand into the milk and carefully turn it on. Move the jug slightly up and down. Don't bring the milk to a boil and avoid the development of big bubbles. For real frothy milk you'll need tiny bubbles. If desired reduce the power of the steam.
Pour the frothy milk into a high glass. Add the caramel syrup. Wait a little while for the milk to drop down to the bottom of the glass. Make a small cup of espresso. Carefully pour the espresso into the frothy milk. The espresso will drop down to the middle of the Latte Macchiato. Now the milk foam is on top and the milk on the bottom.
