baking powder
baking soda
granulated sugar
salt
yogurt
eggs

Serves 15 - 165 cal per serving

The yogurt bread has a slightly sweet flavor. It's best with jelly, marmalade, honey or quark. Combine the whole-wheat flour and the all-purpose flour. Add baking powder and 1 leveled tsp. baking soda. Season with granulated sugar and salt. Mix well. Whisk together the plain whole milk yogurt and the egg. Add to the flour and knead. The dough is soft and slightly pasty. On a floured workspace knead the dough until smooth. Form a round loaf about 2 inches high. Carve the loaf cross wise. In the pre heated oven bake the Yogurt Bread on the middle rung for approx. 40 minutes. After 25 minutes baking time cover the bread to prevent from getting to dark. Knock with your knuckles on the bottom of the bread. If it sounds hollow, it's done. Let cool on a wire rack. It's also delicious to toast the bread.
